Its alphabetic arrangement in Hebrew gives the praise a carefully ordered form, as though every letter should join in thanksgiving. Catholics hear a summons to study and remember the Lord's deeds rather than allow faith to become vague sentiment. The Psalm's statement that reverence for God is the beginning of wisdom connects worship with the moral and intellectual life. God's generosity in providing for his people prepares the heart to recognize every good gift as grace.
