Its praise does not arise from ignorance of violence; it is confidence expressed amid a troubled world. Together with Psalm 10, it preserves features of an alphabetic composition in the Hebrew tradition. Catholics can pray it for the poor, the persecuted, and those who wait long for justice. Its hope is ultimately grounded in the God who judges with truth, a theme brought to fullness in Christ's final judgment. Praise becomes an act of solidarity with those who need protection.
