The Psalmist nearly loses his footing until entering God's sanctuary and seeing life in an eternal perspective. Catholic readers can recognize this as a struggle with envy and the temptation to measure everything by comfort or wealth. The Psalm does not explain away suffering; it redirects the heart toward the Lord as its lasting portion. In the light of Christ's Resurrection, eternal communion with God offers a horizon larger than immediate outcomes. The prayer matures from comparison to intimacy.
