Psalm 46 places Jerusalem's security in God's presence rather than in military certainty. Catholics can pray it amid war or personal upheaval, remembering that Christ promises to remain with his Church even in danger. The call to be still is not passive indifference; it is a recognition that God's sovereignty outruns human anxiety. The Psalm also nourishes the Christian hope for the final peace of God's kingdom, where violence will no longer govern human affairs.
