Israel is portrayed as a vine once transplanted and protected, now exposed to ruin. Jesus later describes himself as the true vine, giving Christians a profound way to contemplate the renewal of God's people in him. Catholics can pray this Psalm in Advent and in seasons of communal weakness, asking not merely for better circumstances but for a return to living communion with God. The vine's fruitfulness depends upon remaining connected to its source. Scripture connections: John 15, verses 1–8; Isaiah 5, verses 1–7 Read Psalm 80 (NABRE) on Bible Gateway Tue, 20 Oct 2026 13:38:05 GMT https://validator.w3.org/feed/docs/rss2.html PeerTube - https://peertube.fourangrydachshunds.nohost.me https://peertube.fourangrydachshunds.nohost.me/lazy-static/avatars/841e8d36-3573-4ed6-bb57-c78d3030ac78.png https://peertube.fourangrydachshunds.nohost.me/videos/watch/8d582b77-1976-4d49-b212-dbfd0b4b6409 All rights reserved, unless otherwise specified in the terms specified at https://peertube.fourangrydachshunds.nohost.me/about and potential licenses granted by each content's rightholder.
