False gods are contrasted with the Creator, and even the trees and seas are summoned to rejoice before his just judgment. For Catholics, the 'new song' finds fresh resonance in the Gospel's universal proclamation. Mission is not merely expanding a community; it is inviting every people to know the saving works of God. The Psalm also unites praise with hope for righteous judgment. Creation rejoices because the world's future belongs to a faithful Judge, not to chaos or tyranny.
