Its contrast between the living God and powerless idols recalls Psalm 115. Catholics can hear a reminder that worship must be centered on God rather than things humans make or control. Remembering Israel's deliverance also prepares Christians to recognize the greater saving work of Christ. The Psalm is joyful but demanding: praise is grounded in remembering God's real works and refusing false substitutes.
