The speaker remembers worship and praises the Lord even during the night. Catholic spirituality treasures the Psalm as a language of contemplative longing, especially in morning prayer. Its desire for sanctuary can awaken gratitude for the presence of Christ in the Church's sacramental life. Yet the heart of the poem is not merely a particular sacred place: it is the living God, whose faithful love satisfies more deeply than comfort or success.
