Psalm 42 remembers joyful worship while confronting tears and hostile questions. It appears closely connected to Psalm 43 through a shared refrain. The heading associates it with the sons of Korah, a Levitical singing tradition. For Catholics, this is a prayer of spiritual dryness and of longing for the Eucharistic assembly when separated from communal worship. Hope is not a cheerful denial of pain; it is the decision to seek God's face again even while the heart remains troubled. Scripture connections: John 4, verses 13–14; Matthew 5, verse 6 Read Psalm 42 (NABRE) on Bible Gateway Tue, 20 Oct 2026 16:29:37 GMT https://validator.w3.org/feed/docs/rss2.html PeerTube - https://peertube.fourangrydachshunds.nohost.me https://peertube.fourangrydachshunds.nohost.me/lazy-static/avatars/841e8d36-3573-4ed6-bb57-c78d3030ac78.png https://peertube.fourangrydachshunds.nohost.me/videos/watch/afffaa3c-4430-469a-a229-7a45e90287f7 All rights reserved, unless otherwise specified in the terms specified at https://peertube.fourangrydachshunds.nohost.me/about and potential licenses granted by each content's rightholder.
