Nations and armies may rely on strength, but the Lord sees every heart. The Christian reader hears the creative Word in light of Christ, through whom all things came to be. Catholics can unite grateful worship with concern for justice, since the Psalm praises both divine power and God's love of what is right. Hope rests not in our ability to control history but in the faithful Creator who watches over those who trust him.
