This great litany moves through creation, the Exodus, and continuing providence. Catholics can use its rhythm to meditate on a life held together by divine mercy. Repetition is not empty when it brings the heart back to what is most important. In Christian worship, God's covenant faithfulness reaches its fullness in the death and Resurrection of Jesus, and the repeated refrain becomes a joyful school of gratitude. The Psalm encourages us to name both great saving events and ordinary daily gifts.
