The New Testament repeatedly draws on its images: zeal for God's house is recalled after Jesus cleanses the Temple, and other passages echo his experience of rejection. The Psalm also contains severe wishes against enemies; Catholic interpretation must read those pleas through Christ's forgiveness and the Church's rejection of private vengeance. Christians can enter the pain of the persecuted just one while allowing the Psalm's ultimate praise to draw them toward hope. Humiliation does not exhaust the story of God's faithful servant. Scripture connections: John 2, verse 17; Romans 15, verse 3; Acts 1, verse 20 Read Psalm 69 (NABRE) on Bible Gateway Tue, 20 Oct 2026 16:23:17 GMT https://validator.w3.org/feed/docs/rss2.html PeerTube - https://peertube.fourangrydachshunds.nohost.me https://peertube.fourangrydachshunds.nohost.me/lazy-static/avatars/841e8d36-3573-4ed6-bb57-c78d3030ac78.png https://peertube.fourangrydachshunds.nohost.me/videos/watch/d2cca31d-f8d2-4234-9bf7-27b304fba8e5 All rights reserved, unless otherwise specified in the terms specified at https://peertube.fourangrydachshunds.nohost.me/about and potential licenses granted by each content's rightholder.
