Jesus speaks its words of entrusting his spirit to the Father at the moment of death, giving this prayer a special place in Christian devotion. Catholics can pray it when they are misunderstood, afraid, or nearing the end of life. The Psalm's hope is not that believers will never suffer, but that they can be held faithfully even through suffering. It teaches the courage of surrender: to place our days into God's hands.
