Building, guarding, and raising a family all belong under the Lord's providence. Catholics can apply this wisdom to marriage, parenting, work, and parish life without misunderstanding it as an argument against effort or planning. The Psalm values children as a gift, not a personal trophy or guarantee of happiness. Christian discipleship seeks to build with God rather than merely asking him to endorse our plans. Trust changes the meaning of work and rest alike.
